Math problems are presented using shapes, image words, and numerals. These activities teach students that numbers are really a shortcut to representing a group of actual objects. Through the 20 lessons in this unit, students move from the concrete level of counting objects to the abstract level of numerals and symbols. Emphasis is on numbers 1-10.
